It was a normal routine for me. I finished my dinner, started my computer & opened up a couple of websites to read articles about yesterday’s & today’s matches of the Airtel Champions League T20. I read one article on www.espnstar.com. The second site that I follow is www.rediff.com & opened up that too. To make sure I don’t miss out anything, I read the article for the same match from both of these websites as usually they cover it pretty extensively.
To my surprise, I found the article word to word similar on both the websites. I was disappointed when I discovered this. I didn’t open up the sites expecting this to come.
After that, I decided to check this article on other websites. Result? No different! Check the URLs below:
ESPNSTAR - http://www.espnstar.com/cricket/cl-t20/news/detail/item337058/Gambhir:-Viru-set-the-game-for-us/
REDIFF - http://cricket.rediff.com/report/2009/oct/12/gautam-gambhir-on-virender-sehwag.htm
IN.COM / CRICKETNEXT - http://cricketnext.in.com/news/viru-set-up-the-game-for-us-gambhir/44473-31.html
MID-DAY:
DECCAN HERALD: http://www.deccanherald.com/content/30122/viru-set-game-us-gambhir.html
All of the above mentioned websites, have a certain amount of respect for their names. Who copied from whom, still remains a question.
Strangely, a couple of days ago, I read an article, it was a meetup of News Corp’s Rupert Murdoch & Tom Curley of the Associated Press. They were saying that the search engines will have to pay for Online News. You can read the article at:

My friends, no one would pay if you continue doing copy paste.

I have been playing with Facebook recently & trying out different apps. I thought I would just write down my reviews for each of the apps I tried & share some views as well.
Applications tried so far:
After reviewing all the above apps, what I found was 80% of the apps have either external ads or have ads of other Facebook apps on them. The first thing that came to my mind was: Is this spamming of applications? I think yes.
There are way too many meaningless apps or apps that simply seem to be have made to host other ads & have more clicks. I am not sure if that is acceptable under Facebook terms or not.
Facebook is definitely changing the way people interact & changing it in a big way.

Since last few days, I was just curious to know what’s the meaning of our national anthem. So just went ahead & found out. What was unexpected to find is that this was actually composed to be sung in the honor of the King George V by Rabindranath Tagore, when he was to be given the Imperial Crown of India. Originally, it was written in Sanskritized Bengali.
Here is the meaning of each line:
Jana Gana Mana Adhinayak Jaya he, Bharat Bhagya Vidhata - O! Dispenser of India’s Destiny, you are the ruler of the minds of all people.
Punjab Sindh Gujarat Maratha, Dravida Utkala Banga - Your name excites the hearts of Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat & Maratha country, in the Dravida, Utkala & Bengal.
Vindhya Himachala Yamuna Ganga, Utkala Jaladhi Tarang - It echoes in the hills of the Vindhyas & Himalayas. It mingles in the pure waters of Yamuna & Ganga.
Tava Shubh Name Jaage, Tava Shubh Ashish Maange - They sing only your name, they seek your auspicious blessings.
Gahe Tava Jaya Gatha - They seek only your victory.
Jana Gana Mangaldayak Jaya he, Bharat Bhagya Vidhata - You are the savior of all people. India’s destiny is in your hands, you are the ruler of the minds of all people.
Jaya he, Jaya he, Jaya he, Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya he - Victory to you…
People have been saying that Vande Mataram should be our National Anthem given that ‘Jana Gana Mana’ was composed for King George V. However, It’s also true that whenever we sing ‘Jana Gana Mana’, it arises a feeling of pride & patriotism in our hearts & runs shivers through our body.
Though after knowing the meaning, whenever I will sing the anthem, it will make me feel conscious as to for whom I am singing it. Something strange…but can’t change it.
